Organic Synthesis Techniques & Protocols
There are some really useful resources for organic techniques online, some of which I'll link here:
For TLC Stains, I particularly like the utility of Vanillin- a good recipe and primer can be found at Curly Arrow's blog: TLC Stains Part 1- Vanillin from Curly Arrow
Column Chromatography Basics- JoVE and Welder's Lab at Dartmouth
For NMR Analysis, I can't recommend SpinWorks enough- it's free, open source, and developed by chemists at the University of Manitoba
Working with sintered (fritted) glass, a primer from ILPI
Working under inert atmosphere techniques from ChemistryViews: Part 1, Part 2, Part 3 and Part 4. The same author also has some great tutorials on techniques for crystal growth.
For an excellent collection of tips, tricks, and general protocols, I highly recommend Not Voodoo, a curated collection of organic techniques from the Frontier Lab at University of Rochester, supported by the NSF.
